Earle Mankey

Earle Mankey is an American musician, record producer and audio engineer. A founding member and guitarist of Halfnelson, the band that became Sparks, he recorded the group’s early demos in his home studio, which led to their debut album produced by Todd Rundgren in 1971.

As an engineer he worked on The Beach Boys’ The Beach Boys Love You (1977) and M.I.U. Album (1978), and as a producer he became a fixture of the Los Angeles scene, working with bands including 20/20, the Runaways, Concrete Blonde, the Long Ryders and the Three O’Clock. He still records and produces at his studio in Thousand Oaks, California.
