Matthew K Heafy

Matthew Kiichi Heafy is a Japanese-American singer and guitarist, best known as the frontman of the heavy metal band Trivium. He was born in Iwakuni, Japan, in 1986, to a Japanese mother and an American father, and grew up in the United States, eventually settling in Orlando, Florida.

He began taking metal seriously at age 12 and joined Trivium at 13, going on to lead the band as vocalist and guitarist through its international career. Alongside Trivium he created Ibaraki, a black metal project, and earlier sang with Capharnaum.

On Waves of Harmony, Matthew sings lead vocals and metal vocals on O Death.
